Book with Kayla

Hi, I’m Kayla Price (she/her)! I’m a Therapist Intern who brings warmth, curiosity, and genuine care into the therapy space. I work with kids, teens, adults, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, parenting support, and chronic stress. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as we explore what’s going on—at a pace that feels right for you.

Outside of therapy, I’m a former competitive dancer, a dolphin lover, a travel enthusiast, and someone who is boundlessly adventurous. I love movement, creativity, and exploring new places, and I bring that same sense of openness and curiosity into my work with clients.

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, with a balance of empathy and gentle directness. I focus on building a safe, supportive relationship while helping clients develop practical insight and effective coping strategies they can use in everyday life. What makes my approach personal is that I also live with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, which allows me to bring both clinical knowledge and lived experience into the work. I strive to normalize the process, offer genuine empathy, and model realistic ways to manage anxiety and emotional distress.

When working with children and teens, I use a developmentally appropriate, strengths-based, and engaging approach, often incorporating play, creativity, and open conversation to help them feel safe and empowered, while collaborating closely with caregivers. With adults and couples, I take a collaborative and relational approach, balancing emotional processing with structured, goal-oriented skill-building to improve communication and strengthen patterns of connection. When working with families, I focus on communication, understanding dynamics, and fostering connection, helping each voice feel heard while guiding the family toward practical strategies for growth.

You might hear me say things like “It makes sense that you feel that way,” “You’re not alone in this,” or “Let’s take a moment to breathe and check in.” I often use the metaphor “two stars in the dark”—where the stars represent hope, joy, and connection, and the space between represents fear, grief, or stress. Together, we learn how to move through the dark spaces while gently guiding ourselves toward the next source of light.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of West Georgia and am currently working toward my Master’s degree at Clayton State University. What guides my work most is compassion, presence, empowerment, cultural humility, safety, and authentic collaboration, with a deep belief that meaningful growth happens when people feel truly seen and supported.

Guiding Vibe: “Two stars in the dark”—learning to move through the hard spaces while holding onto hope.

Starting therapy can feel scary, but it’s also a brave step toward understanding yourself and finding relief. You don’t have to have it all figured out—I’ll meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and walk alongside you as you navigate both the dark spaces and the bright moments in your life..
