Emotionally-Focused Therapy / EFT in Georgia

Deepening emotional connection and secure bonds.

Emotionally Focused Therapy, often called EFT, helps individuals, couples, and families better understand the emotions, attachment needs, and relationship patterns that shape how they connect with one another. When relationships feel strained, partners or family members can get caught in cycles of pursuing, withdrawing, shutting down, reacting, or feeling misunderstood.

EFT helps clients slow down these patterns, understand what is happening underneath the conflict, and create more secure emotional connection. The goal is not to decide who is “right” or “wrong,” but to help each person feel more seen, heard, understood, and emotionally safe.

EFT Therapy May Support:

Couples and Relationship Conflict

Repeated arguments, disconnection, communication struggles, or feeling stuck in the same painful cycle.

Emotional Distance and Disconnection

Feeling alone in the relationship, shut out, unseen, or unsure how to reach each other.

Attachment Wounds and Trust

Fear of rejection, abandonment, betrayal, insecurity, or difficulty feeling emotionally safe.

Family Relationships

Strengthening communication, emotional understanding, repair, and connection within family systems.

Intimacy and Secure Bonding

Building closeness, vulnerability, trust, emotional responsiveness, and a stronger sense of “we.”

What EFT Therapy Feels Like at Tiny Planet Counseling

At Tiny Planet Counseling, EFT-informed therapy is offered in a warm, supportive, and collaborative way. Your therapist may help you identify the patterns that keep showing up, understand the emotions underneath those patterns, and practice new ways of reaching for connection instead of getting pulled into conflict or shutdown.

EFT therapy is not about blaming one person or forcing vulnerability before you are ready. Instead, it helps create a safer space to understand each person’s needs, fears, protective responses, and longing for connection.

Connection Can Be Rebuilt

Relationships can get stuck in painful patterns, but those patterns can shift. EFT therapy can help couples, families, and individuals deepen emotional connection, strengthen secure bonds, and move toward more safety, trust, and closeness.
