Hey there, my name is Cori Jones (she/they), and I am a queer, neuro-divergent, Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). I graduated with my MSW in 2022 from UGA with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work from a trauma-informed framework. I believe humans are made up of who we are, what has happened to us and what we’ve been surrounded by. Our therapeutic relationship will be rooted in building understanding and trust. Your intersectional identities and personal goals will guide me in choosing therapeutic interventions to best support your growth. I use an eclectic blend of modalities to tailor treatment to you and your needs including: narrative therapy, expressive arts therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and emotionally focused therapy. I see adults, teens, children, and families.
My ideal individual and relationship clients are those who recognize that their current way of doing things is no longer serving them. They are ready to experience the discomfort that comes with doing “the work”. These are clients who are open to understanding that our past experiences and traumas, especially in childhood, lead us to make choices based on survival and self-protection and that these choices can become outdated, not useful, and sometimes actively harmful to ourselves, and our relationships. They are open to learning and exploring how neurobiology can play a part in how we function within the boundaries of what society considers “normal”.
