Welcome to Tiny Planet Counseling as you embark on this step of your mental health journey. My name is Skyler Smith, and I am currently a second-year student working toward a master’s of science in clinical and counseling psychology. Throughout life, each of us has had to confront some sort of issue or concern that seems to draw our focus away from the regular pace of life. Whether you see yourself struggling to find motivation in your daily life, feel not quite like your true self, or sense a weight placed on your shoulders, choosing to start therapy can be a great way to discover how to realign with your ideal self.
As a therapist, my role is one of a collaborator in your mental health journey. While I will absolutely assist in guiding you through the steps of treatment, I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own lived experiences. Together, we will determine the best way to approach your goals in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. Because of the very personal nature of therapy, I always strive to highlight the importance that your personal outlook and background play in shaping your experience throughout the course of treatment. I will always honor and celebrate your unique perspective when it comes to navigating our time together.
